Deep Listening Circle

  • Sacred Earth Activism, Unit 32, Sparrow Way Canterbury, England, CT3 4AL United Kingdom (map)

We invite you to join our 'Deep listening circle in the format of a talking stick ceremony: Finding our Voices in Times of Manipulation and Oppression

In these challenging, transformational times, many of us feel the need to express their hopes and fears, their dreams and wishes, their sorrows and prayers, but lack the platforms and spaces to do so safely, or without getting into often fruitless debates or arguments.

Indigenous cultures know that expressing and listening is a vital part of community. They practice a tradition commonly known as a 'Talking Stick Ceremony', which serve two very important purposes for the social fabric of the community. First, it gives all members of the community an opportunity to speak their minds or hearts, knowing that they will be listened to respectfully and without interruption, having an equal voice regardless of their social position or opinion. Secondly, and just as importantly, all other members are called upon to listen deeply, without judgement or comment, thereby strengthening their empathy, compassion and understanding.

Sacred Earth Activism keeps offering these deep listening circles, using the format of the talking stick ceremony, as people find it important to express during these challenging times.

We invite you to join us on this seventh deep listening circle, which will focus on the subject 'Finding our Voices in Times of Manipulation and Oppression'

Join us on on the 11 December 2025, 7pm – 8.30pm (UTC), 2pm(ET) to express what needs expressing!
