About Us

Sacred Earth Activism

Sacred Earth Activism C.I.C. was formed in response to hearing the call for profound change and transformation that needs to take place if we want to live sustainable, humane and fulfilled lives, infused with a sense of connection to earth and the sacred.

The sickness of society is a sickness of separation, greed and profound inequality on every level. We therefore believe that this process of transformation needs to lead from separation to conectedness, from fragmentation to wholeness, from the thriving of the few to the thriving of all life on this beautiful planet.

We believe that if we want to envisage and birth the new, we need to remember our connectedness to all things, ground ourselves in our relationship with the Earth, listen to the call of the sacred and bring that through us for positive change.

Sacred Earth Activism therefore works with the intent of bringing the sacred and earth-centered spiritual actively into the web of change through supporting, co-ordinating and initiating movements, protests, resistance initiatives, projects and change-makers.

Our focus is on ecological movements in the widest sense, as well as initiatives which work towards connecting communities, people and institutions with earth, nature and the sacred.

Christa Mackinnon is a psychologist, therapist, medicine woman, shamanic teacher, author and speaker. Previously working internationally for over 25 years as a complex trauma specialist, and lecturing at various universities, she shifted her focus to ancient wisdom teachings, apprenticing to indigenous shamans in South America and learning from contemporary shamanic teachers in North America, Europe and Asia.

Christa is the author of three books, combining the ancient shamanic with the contemporary therapeutic. Her books include the ground breaking ‘Shamanism and Spirituality in Therapeutic Practice’ and the bestselling ‘Shamanism: Awaken and Develop the Shamanic Force Within’. She also speaks and writes widely about both subjects.

Christa founded the training organisation ‘Bridging the Worlds’ and is the co-founder of ‘Women Weaving Change’, which trains Modern Medicine Woman, and works with female change-makers. She is a member of Treesisters, works with Extinction Rebellion on community level and is involved in the wider Women’s movement.
